Thanks to the amazing 1980’s show Full House, on February 26th the Netflix original Fuller House was released. Before we start talking about Fuller House, let’s talk about the original. Full House is the story of TV talk show host Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) who is forced to raise his kids after the unfortunate loss of his wife in a car crash. With the help of his brother in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), Jesse’s wife Rebecca Donaldson Katsopolis (Lori Loughlin) and his friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), together they help raise Danny’s three daughters: Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), D.J. (Candace Cameron), and Michelle (Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen).
Fuller House is basically the sequel to Full House…just 29 years later. Like the first show, D.J.’s firemen husband Tommy Fuller (Get it. Fuller… Fuller House!) dies trying to save people in a fire. Leaving D.J. all alone to raise their kids: Jackson (Michael Campion), Max (Elias Harger), and Tommy (Dashiell & Fox Messitt). And like the first show; D.J. is all alone to raise the three children…that is until Stephanie and D.J.’s childhood best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) decide to move in with D.J. and help her raise her three sons.
Sound familiar anyone?
Throughout Fuller House you will surely see development in the characters; inside and outside of taking care of the children. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that Kimmy has a child of her own? Soni Nicole Bringas plays Ramona Gibbler, Kimmy’s teenage daughter. People who watched the 1980’s show Full House might be wondering about “Danny, Jesse, Joey and Rebecca? Won’t they be in the show as well?” And the answer would be “yes!” as now they are considered guest stars in the show.
My Personal Opinion of Fuller House
In my opinion I really enjoyed Fuller House. I feel that the story’s heart and funny comedy give the show its best assets, much like the original. Also I like how the story focuses more on the “kids” (D.J., Stephanie and Kimmy). When I heard that they were making a sequel to Full House I was really excited because at that point I was watching the last seasons of Full House and I fell in love with the show. I must say that I would give Fuller House 9.5/10. The only thing I will complain about is that it will take at least another year for season 2 of Fuller House to appear on Netflix. I will strongly suggest that if you are a fan of Full House you should definitely consider watching Fuller House. I guarantee you will like it just as much.
