I am a 12 year old seventh grader and my name is Salima. I was born and raised in Harlem, and I absolutely adore living in the city! The city is filled with thousands of people with all types of different cultures, backgrounds, religions, and personalities. I love observing all of these unique and fascinating human beings and learning what makes them different from everyone else.  This is the reason why I want to be an anthropologist when I’m older. In addition, I have an intense urge to document everything I see and think, which is why I have completed more than 20 journals since I was in first grade. Along with writing, I always make sure that I stay updated on politics, and world issues. For my love of culture and people, I am looking forward to writing articles in our school newspaper.
